PRODUCTION CREW LEADER 8 years’ production experience at Rio Tinto, 7 years’ experience in grade control, crew training, mining and quarrying, and 8 years’ experience in heavy earthmoving & excavation machinery. I've directed teams of up to 51 ensuring efficient operations with a focus on encouraging team effort, fostering supportive attitudes, exceeding performance targets and maintaining safety and compliance in high-risk environments. I lead crews on site and liaise with interrelated departments to plan and achieve production goals. I make sure all standards are met for compliance with human performance (HP) and critical risk management (CRM) standards and meet daily project expectations by leading shift handovers, setting up, conducting pre-start inspections, hazard assessments & toolbox meetings to meet standards and deadlines. FOCUS AREAS SAFETY: I maintain accountability for safety checks on all equipment operated throughout the production process, and monitor activities of crew, immediately addressing any incident that compromises safety. I am unafraid to challenge those that may be unfit for work, or those who risk their own, and others’ safety. QUALITY: I strive to meet quality assurance standards in line with continuous improvement objectives. I set high standards, do not compromise on quality and address defects or faults immediately. HUMAN RESOURCES: I assist in recruitment with candidate interviews, scheduling, covering sick leave and time off. I also facilitate drug and alcohol screening (DAS) to ensure team members are fit for work.I am always willing to help others and approach challenges with a clear mind and calm demeanour. Outside of work, I have a keen interest in property development and real estate, and on my days off, love nothing more than getting into the great outdoors.I'm honest and hard working, and with a 98% attendance record, I expect the same from the crews that I work with.
