I conduct quarterly HSE Inspections of multiple company industrial/lab facilities, office spaces, and outdoor workspaces, to identify hazards, and note any OSHA Standard deficiencies. I debrief senior company and lab management on the findings and, following a review of applicable OSHA, ANSI, ASME and/or NFPA Standards, suggest, develop, and/or implement any corrective actions and safeguards to ensure compliance. As a member of our Corporate Safety Committee, along with senior management, I teach, advise and counsel the workforce on OSHA Standard requirements, and applicability to our project-based testing and work routines. I also work with lab managers and project managers to develop OSHA- and safety-compliant solutions to unique challenges they face on clients’ test projects, up to and including creating new guidance, as well as revising existing HSE policies and documentation. The primary focus is how to keep the employees safe, so everyone goes home the same or better than when they arrived. I’m still working as the Training Program Director as well, where I design and create multi-disciplinary training programs and courses focusing on employee needs and company business goals.
