About Mark Hall

I've been involved with broadcasting in one form or other since I was a Disc Jockey at WMJL Radio in Marion, KY when I was a Junior in high school. The teacher of my Public Speaking class thought I'd be good at it, and gave me the name of the manager at the station. I was hired immediately. Bitten by the bug, I pursued a Radio broadcasting career. After graduating HS in 1978, I enrolled at my local community college which had a solid TV/Radio Production department, then about 3 weeks into my first semester I went to the local NBC Television Affiliate in Paducah, KY (WPSD-TV), to give them my application. I walked out that afternoon with a full-time job as a Film Technician (loading Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island and commercial film reels). Gee whiz, 17 years old, going to college and working a FT job at the local TV station! I realized quickly that TV was where I wanted to work. I earned my two-year degree while working FT and simply never left that station, working my way up from Film Technician to Master Control Operator, Newscast Director, Senior Director and Operations Director. Along the way I became involved with Sports Broadcasting, becoming a Freelance Associate Director, as well as working a bit as a Technical Director and CG Operator. I've been blessed in my career, learning new things all the time and meeting great people. Never a dull moment!
