PROFILE A chartered mechanical engineer I have held directorships and senior management positions in manufacturing and supply chain businesses in the automotive, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors. Throughout my career I have led teams to transform businesses and achieve world class performance in cost, service and quality. My track record of success includes process optimisation, customer partnerships, lean implementations, business integration and divestment, people development and outsourcing. Leadership: Operations and Supply Chain Director of a £340m t/o global business unit with a total supply chain cost of £68m Implemented a site turnaround programme resulting in a cost reduction of £1.3m and full legal compliance Completed a Europe wide site restructuring programme involving site closures and outsourcing of non core activities Manufacturing: Implemented a “Lean Enterprise” programme for a multi-site operation resulting in an overall 5% reduction in manufacturing cost Introduced site excellence programme resulting in the achievement of Oliver Wight’s Class “A” standard Introduced a process based management team, integrated 2 sites and improved productivity by 9% My site was awarded highly commended in the UK Best Factories Award Supply Chain: Introduced a region wide consistent and comparable customer service monitoring system.
