About Mark Holcomb

My career in motion started at the University of Buffalo (MS 1994), in taking courses like Feedback Control Theory, Digital Control, and Vibration Control. These classes got me hooked on motion, and I am proud to say I have used the content from these courses every day of my 30 years in motion. My professional career started at CSA Engineering (now Moog) in Palo Alto, California. In 1997 I started my own consulting company, focusing on my work at KLA, a leading semiconductor equipment manufacturer. While at KLA, I conducted model testing and servo loop modelling, tuning, and testing. I joined Celera Motion in 2015 and started my transition to the commercial side of business, acting as a Solution Specialist, a hybrid role between engineering and applications. My engineering work focused on writing software for motor analysis and automate testing of motors and mechatronics products, while my commercial work focused on customers, via working with sales doing motor technical support. In 2018 I became Applications Engineering Manager, supporting Celera's the global sales and applications teams in solving customers' motion control needs. In September of 2022, I joined Genesis Robotics and Motion Technology where I supported a team of product managers and applications engineers, setting product roadmaps and helping customers and sales with pre and post sales technical support. My hobbies outside of work include wakeboarding, snowboarding, golf, and wine tasting. I played in community adult indoor soccer leagues soccer for over 20 years, but finally had to give that up, as my knee forced me off the field. I love being outside, and feel motivated by the morning sun to get up, get moving, and get things done!
