About Mark Holdgrafer

I am currently a Principle Systems Engineer for a large defense contractor. I am involved in testing and integrating updates and upgrades to tactical datalink communication systems as well as providing solutions for problems that arise in fielded systems.After my time in the military and in school, I started off my career at a small startup during the dot-com boom. Initially I was focused on the hardware side. I brought programming expertise learned by experience and in school to my work and then found myself working on embedded systems and application development. Finding that I enjoyed this type of work, I stayed there. Since then I have expanded into all phases of the software development cycle, working on projects ranging from quick turn-around seat-of-the-pants type development up to CMMI Level V process heavy development.Over the course of my career I have moved beyond just an embedded systems and software development role and taken on tasks in testing and systems integration as well as field engineering tasks in support of products that I've helped developed. It's been an honor to work with the men and women deployed and using these products in hostile areas, and making sure that they can get the most out of them.Specialties: System Test and Integration, Tactical Data Links, Requirements development and refinement, Document development, writing, and review, Defense Application development in Linux and Windows environments, C/C++, C#.
