About Mark Honzay

As Principal Architect in JLG’s Healthcare practice studio, Mark brings 18 years of experience to his role at JLG. He is a registered Architect in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, and received his Master of Architecture degree from North Dakota State University in 2009. Mark leads project teams on a wide variety of healthcare and higher education healthcare simulation and training projects. He has experience with critical access hospitals, mental and behavioral health, large-scale rural medical centers, clinics, laboratory spaces, simulation spaces, and specialty medical spaces. These projects range from small complex renovations within existing active healthcare spaces to new multi-million-dollar standalone projects. Mark also assists clients and healthcare systems with facility assessments, facility improvements, and master planning. Mark’s focus is on healthcare projects and the unique opportunities that come with designing spaces that help people heal. Mark specializes in leading healthcare systems, clients, consultants and team members through a detailed, thoughtful, and interactive design to create the best experience, solutions, and outcomes for every project. Through his work in the Healthcare industry, Mark brings evidence based design, trauma informed design, and collaborative design skills to each project and interaction. As an outgoing, hardworking, and friendly leader, Mark is dedicated to collaborating closely with clients and teams to provide leading healthcare design that transforms rural healthcare and improves the lives of everyone that uses the facilities that he is a part of.
