I have 3+ decades of problem solving and solution building experience. I work with all aspects of database management/programming and software in a wide variety of information technologies. I have developed systems for: energy, finance, telecom, insurance, agriculture, manufacturing and transportation. I am the Chief Database Architect for Katalyst Data Management (KDM) where I manage design, development and operations of database systems (iGlass) which host seismic, well, project and inventory (digital and media) metadata for several multi-national energy companies around the world. I manage a DevOps team which is responsible for iGlass databases hosted in multiple KDM datacenters around the world (Calgary, Houston, London and Perth). My team is responsible for the programming, availability, performance monitoring/tuning, upgrading/patching and safeguarding of these databases. I manage design and development of KDM's iGlass data model (based on PPDM v3.8). I design and manage database changes and programming from conception, development, testing to production deployment. I have vast Postgres and Oracle database architecture, administration and tuning experience and have utilized technologies including: streaming replication (standby databases), Data Guard, RMAN and various performance monitoring/tuning systems such as: Datadog, Enterprise Manager and Foglight. I have extensive database programming experience and am extremely fluent in PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL, SQL and various shell scripting and programming languages. I have Oracle to Postgres (EnterpriseDB Postgres Advanced Server) migration expertise having migrated KDM's Oracle databases to Postgres as well as converted all of KDM's PL/SQL code to PL/pgSQL. I have significant experience in developing ETL procedures to handle metadata migrations from 3rd party databases such as Trango, eSearch and ProSource to KDM's iGlass databases.
