About Mark Isalan
The aim of my group is to study the interactions between biological components to gain a predictive understanding of biological networks in cells. Ultimately, we would like to be able to build synthetic gene networks that consistently behave in the way we would anticipate. We are particularly interested in spatial pattern formation and how genetic programs can be engineered to make defined patterns and to intervene in disease. Our work spans aspects from basic science through to human gene therapy. Specialties: synthetic biology, systems biology, zinc fingers, protein engineering, gene repair, genome engineering, gene therapy I carry out scientific consulting in: synthetic biology, protein engineering, gene therapy
