About Mark Jasper

Mark is a certified ecologist and wildlife biologist with over 12 years of experience in project management, fieldwork coordination and staffing, environmental compliance monitoring and reporting, impact analyses, habitat assessments, and special status plant and wildlife surveys. Mark has served as the project manager on projects for private and public sector clients which include providing environmental support and fieldwork coordination of a gas line replacement project for a large utility company and on a project preparing cultural and biological studies for a municipal client. He served as Fieldwork Coordinator for over three years on all projects for Transcon Environmental’s largest utility client, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG & E). He also served for over four years as Transcon’s Biology Group Lead in the Pacific region with responsibilities including hiring, project staffing, biology group direction, and supervising over 30 biologists in California. He has drafted hundreds of biological constraints review reports in support of utility maintenance and vegetation management projects. He has extensive experience conducting special status wildlife surveys, most notably with protected avian species but also with herp species including California red-legged frog (CRLF), California tiger salamander (CTS), and western pond turtle.
