About Mark Jeffery Campayno

I began my career studying the guitar on my own. I worked on theory and technique using both the Aaron Shearer and Berklee guitar methods. In I decided to take my musical study further by pursuing a degree in Music Education as I had a strong desire to change careers and become a teacher. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Seton Hill University (Greensburg, PA USA) and immediately took a position teaching music in the Loudoun County Public Schools in Northern Virginia. In 2004, I was appointed director of the guitar department at River Bend Middle School. Within two years I built the program to well over 225 students. I began to pursue his Master's Degree in Music Education. I received my degree from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia USA in 2005. In the same year, I was recognized by then Virginia Governor, Mark Warner, for teaching excellence. In my seven years at River Bend Middle School, I was awarded Teacher of the Year two times, and was runner up another two times. In 2010, I moved up to the high school level directing the guitar program at Broad Run High School in Ashburn, Virginia. On June 6 2013, I received the inaugural, Seton Hill University Excellence in Teaching Award for the Fine Arts. The award was created to recognize those alumni working in the field of education who demonstrate outstanding achievement in their field and who are an inspiration to their students. I currently teach Elementary music in Loudoun County and am entering my sixteenth year of teaching. I also own and operate StudioRock of Northern Virginia, a music performance studio located in Herndon, Virginia USA. StudioRock is an outgrowth of my love of learning, teaching, and performing. I also find and direct, young musicians who perform in the annual YouthFest Music Festival, located in Northern Virginia's Loudoun County. The event has been active for 14 years and features a music festival in June.
