Determined. Supportive. Resilient. I joined Canada’s leading commercial real estate financing team in July 2019, after eight years developing my career as part of the residential team. First National Financial is Canada's largest non-bank lender, originating, underwriting and servicing both residential and commercial mortgages. As the leading lender of CMHC and conventional mortgages, First National holds ~$138 billion in mortgages under administration.My tenure on the residential side of the business included underwriting, team lead and account management roles. As a result, my background is well rounded, spanning credit and business development. I am able to navigate and mitigate risk while also understanding and incorporating the borrower’s perspective. Relationship building was a fundamental priority. I learned that good, growing and healthy relationships aren’t always about outcomes. They require time, trust, accountability and open communication consistently, even when there isn’t an opportunity or deal to be had.As Director, Commercial Financing I help clients experience the value of First National’s solution innovation. We offer unique programs, including early rate lock, bridge financing and MLI Select to clients in the Alberta, BC, and Manitoba markets. Alberta has been home for much of my adult life, and it is where I started and grew my mortgage career. I grew up in Winnipeg and travel there on a regular basis. This move to commercial is the first time in my career at First National where I can apply my entrepreneurial talents and showcase both my determination and resiliency. I am excited to operate in a structure that rebuffs complacency and values creativity and fluidity balanced by knowledge.
