About Mark Kane

A degree qualified Engineer with over 25 years post graduate experience in Construction, Engineering design, manufacturing, procurement, management and delivery of high-tech, high value, critical projects. In that time, I have acquired vast knowledge and expertise in the provision of modern healthcare facilities including strategy, capital planning, brief writing, budget management, procurement, design, construction management, risk management, commissioning, delivery and on-going operation and maintenance. During my 22 years working in the Engineering and Estates departments of the Irish Healthcare sector (in both voluntary and statutory settings), I advanced my technical, professional and management career through various roles and further qualifications to the role of Assistant National Director, Capital & Estates. I have a long successful track record of team building and staff management having managed a multi-disciplinary Department with up to 140 employees comprising of professional, technical and administrative staff, a multi-annual capital plan of ca.€785M and an annual operational budget of ca.€9.5M I am now applying this extensive experience in my role as Senior Director for Volumetric Building Companies (VBC), one of the leaders in volumetric construction and off-site manufacturing. At VBC, we have a significant track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects using volumetric technology in multiple sectors, such as residential apartments, hospitality, student accommodation, refugee and staff accommodation. More recently, VBC has moved into the healthcare sector to support operators respond to their needs and demands. We work alongside clients, their design teams and general contractors to ensure projects are successfully delivered and the client achieves the benefits that volumetric approaches deliver including cost, quality, compliance and speed of delivery.
