About Mark Larson

Mark Larson Senior Director, Sg2 Leads the product management, systems design and development of performance analytics. Responsible for the the development of forecasting, measurement, and assessment tools to support decision making in health care strategy and operations. He also develops healthcare performance content, speaks at Sg2 conferences, is a member of the Sg2 Consulting Delivery team and leads operations consulting engagements. Prior to leading the performance analytics team, Mark was a member of the Innovations in Operations team where he directed the development of innovative operational assessment tools and publications on leading trends in healthcare operations. Mark also developed and conducted Sg2 U educational courses on Optimizing ED Performance and Operations Transformation. Mark has more than 15 years of finance, operations and systems experience within the health care industry. He has successfully implemented cost-savings measurement programs at more than 25 major health institutions across the country. Before joining Sg2, Mark was regional director of consulting for Cardinal Healthcare, where he was responsible for consulting operations in the central US. He also successfully assessed, implemented and led case management and patient throughput initiatives. Mark led the development and implementation of many innovative information-based tools, including a balanced scorecard to measure financial performance, process improvement, customer satisfaction and learning and growth initiatives. Prior to his position with Cardinal Health, Mark held various corporate managerial positions. At Allegiance Healthcare and Baxter Healthcare, he served as Manager of Finance and Operations. Mark holds a BA in business administration and computer science from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA, and an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago.
