About Mark Larson

I am a fourth-year Northeastern University undergraduate currently pursuing a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Physics. I am particularly passionate about elementary particle physics and hope to investigate mysteries and remaining questions about the fundamental nature of the universe from the experimental perspective. I have pursued this passion via research experience working within the CMS experiment at CERN and taking graduate-level courses (Elementary Particle Physics, Quantum Field Theory). Future aspirations include pursuing a Ph.D. in experimental high-energy physics after graduating, ideally with a research group involved with the CMS or ATLAS experiments at CERN, and continuing to work in academia conducting experimental high-energy physics research afterward. Undergraduate research experience includes two Northeastern-based co-ops:• Working as a research assistant for over a year in the Lee Lab (Connectomics/Neurobiology) at Harvard Medical School • Working as a research assistant in the Skinnari Lab (Experimental Particle Physics) at Northeastern University, during which I was based in person at CERN.
