About Mark Loughhead
I work in an exciting position which promotes lived experience perspectives in mental health education. My main work is in teaching undergraduate and post graduate nurses. My focus is on recovery practice, consumer engagement, person centred care and health literacy. This position is funded through a partnership with UniSA and Mind Australia Limited, and is the first consumer academic position in South Australia. As well as teaching I am involved in promoting leadership in South Australia's lived experience workforce and a number of different research projects we are undertaking in the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Research Group. I also coordinate a podcast series for our research group (link below). My background is in consumer engagement and community mental health advocacy. I also have skills and interests in qualitative research, program evaluation, multicultural mental health.
