About Mark Mankus

My passion is working with college students in diverse dormitory settings to promote an environment of learning, social and intellectual growth, academic success, and safety. At Westfield State University, I was elected University Hall Council President. I managed a student council whose charter was to initiate and plan innovative activities and events that engaged the students and promoted strong relationships between council members and residents. My experience working in the Student Conduct Office gave me a new perspective in dealing with a wide array of critical student conduct issues in a professional manner. I feel proud that during my time at Westfield State I developed a reputation for being highly visible, accessible and fair in upholding university policies. My leadership and administrative skills have been honed while working as Floor Supervisor for Van Heusen / Izod. In this role, I manage the daily operations of a high-traffic clothing store and lead, coach and mentor a staff of sales associates. Our goal every day is to build brand value and increase customer loyalty by offering superior customer service. Being in retail requires an immense amount of autonomy, flexibility and patience, along with the ability to work well under pressure, which are essential qualities to succeed in residential life.
