About Mark Marandola

I am currently a student at Rutgers University in New Brunswick in my junior year, majoring in both human resources management and psychology, with a minor in labor studies. I have always found myself wanting to work closely with people, and eventually landed on human resources to be my goal to work towards. In my previous and current job positions I have developed team work, communication, and problem solving skills. During my time at Marandola's restaurant, I found out that these skills are crucial. Trying to complete every task on your own will end up making you fall behind, and when one person starts to fall behind, everyone starts to fall behind. Communicating and working together can help maximize efficiency and result in less stress during the job. My time at Rutgers University has also helped me continue to grow and improve myself further. I often put skills that I have learned to use in applicable situations. For example, I have developed a mock training program in a team of 3 for pharmacy technicians to administer immunitizations. I have also acted as an HR generalist manager during a simulation in a team of 3, in which we made decisions about staffing, benefits, and dealt with urgent problems. Both experiences required extensive strategic planning, teamwork, and communication to find the best possible results.
