About Mark Marshall

Dr. Mark Marshall serves as the superintendent for the Central Unified School District (CUSD) which serves students, 1800 employees, and a $300 million dollar budget. Prior to joining CUSD, Dr. Marshall served as Superintendent for Los Banos Unified School District and the Eastside Union School District (EUSD) in Lancaster, California. Dr. Marshall earned his BA and M.Ed. Degrees in Special Education at Nicholls State University; he completed his administrative certification and Ed.S. Degree at the University of West Georgia, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Auburn University. He has also completed post doctoral study at Western Washington University and the University of California Los Angeles-Extension. Having recently completed the prestigious American Association of School Administrators’ National Superintendent Certification Program®, he is presently enrolled in coursework at Seattle Pacific University to further his studies. As a classroom teacher and administrator, Dr. Marshall has received numerous accolades and has been a featured presenter at local, State and National Conferences. He is equally involved in civic and community associations and organizations. He holds membership in the Auburn University Alumni Association, Nicholls State University Alumni Federation, and the University of West Georgia Alumni Association. He is also a member of the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) and serves of the Board of Directors for the California Association of African American Superintendents and Administrators In his spare time, Dr. Marshall enjoys music, traveling, and working out.
