Mark brings passion to quality improvement as the department head of anaesthesiology and medical director of perioperative services in Kelowna. He constantly pushes to create opportunity for safe, effective patient care. Every day he is thankful for a motivated group of highly skilled colleagues who share those goals. Mark has extensive leadership and management experience. His work on quality improvement and ERAS implementation has been informed by leadership work on the governing councils of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Canadian Association of Internes and Residents. Through these bodies he has advocated for support for under-resourced patients, patient safety and physician well-being. In addition Mark has worked internationally, in Nicaragua, Rwanda and Uganda and has an interest in thoughtful Global Health and Development. Mark is building a career that incorporates strong clinical anaesthesia practice with leadership and exploration of BC's beautiful mountains with a camera.
