About Mark Mathabane

With over 36 years of work experience as a writer and public speaker, I am passionate about creating and sharing content that inspires, educates, and entertains audiences. My work cover topics such as education, race relations, social justice, culture, history, philosophy, and spirituality. I have delivered keynote speeches at various events and organizations, drawing from my personal and professional experiences and expertise. I have also recently obtained an AI certification for Writers from Writing.io, which has enhanced my skills in using artificial intelligence to generate and optimize web content. As a writer, storyteller and public speaker, I am always eager to learn new things, collaborate with others, and contribute to the advancement of learning and the creation of a better world. My mission is to empower audiences with stories and insights from diverse backgrounds, and to promote a culture of inclusion, healing, respect, and dialogue, where people learn from each other and work together for common objectives. I'm the author ofnumerous books, including the bestsellers Kaffir Boy and Kaffir Boy in America. Kaffir Boy won the Christopher Award for inspiring hope, and was a finalist for the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights award. My articles on education, race relations and international affairs have appeared in New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, People Magazine and dozens of other publications. I've been interviewed on numerous TV programs, including Oprah, CNN, The Today Show, Democracy Now, Charlie Rose Show, Larry King, and NPR. I was nominated Campus Speaker of the Year and have given talks on the importance of education, healing the racial divide and Ubuntu (the imperatives of our shared humanity) at high schools,colleges, universities, churches and organization across the country and abroad.
