About Mark Maybell

Mark Maybell is a Founder and Chairman of the Darien Athletic Foundation, which has grown rapidly to become the largest foundation in Darien, CT. The foundation designs, constructs and donates to the town athletic and civic infrastructure and also has created the "PBS" of Darien. Mark is involved in strategy, fund raising, operations and donates his professional photography skills to the charity. Mark has held leadership roles in venture capital, technology and investment banking for the past several decades. He was the founding managing partner of Ericsson Venture Partners, the exclusive venture capital and growth equity vehicle for L. M. Ericsson for Europe and North America, backed by Merrill Lynch and Ericsson. Mark managed much of the Investment Banking Department of Merrill Lynch, including the communications and media groups which he built from the start up phase. Mark was a member of the Executive Committee of Merrill Lynch’s Investment Banking Department and was a member of Merrill Lynch’s Capital Commitment Committees for Debt and Equity. Over the course of his career, he has had contact with over companies in the technology, telecom and media industries in over 20 countries in a broad range of venture capital, executive, advisory, financing and merger and acquisition transactions.
