About Mark McAnulty

I design, develop and deliver clean energy solutions to tackle climate change with scalable smart energy technology and community focused approaches. As Head of product for Reposit Power, I work closely with all teams within the business and our growing number of customers to improve the delivery of the No Bill product. I have managed the development of a customer facing energy monitoring app for No bill customers, an EV charging product option, integrated alternative battery and inverter hardware options and internal tools and dashboard to improve the efficiency and focus within the core internal sales function. I am involved in weekly, monthly and quarterly business planning including strategic goal setting and reporting. I was also a co-founder of Solar Campus, a start-up that sought to make community solar projects easy for groups across Australia, beginning in Canberra. In 2019, Solar Campus won the ACT Zero CO2 Hackathon, with $7k in seed funding, and more recently won a $15k seed-funding grant through Innovation ACT, showing the enthusiastic backing we have in the Canberra community. Despite these initial successes, the business was wound up in 2020 after the full extent of the financial and legal barriers for micro investing were fully understood. I enjoy taking on complex problems, and I get a lot out of speaking with the many people involved in these kinds of projects. A highlight of my time at the ANU was joining the university’s World Solar Challenge team, in which I led the business side of the project, and managed stakeholders and external communications. Climate change is my driving passion, and it has led me to become part of an exciting industry and innovative space full of great people. When I’m not working on addressing the impending climate disaster, I do a lot of bushwalking, long distance running, snowboarding, and walking Mabel the greyhound. Over the next 10 years I know that distributed energy resources, like rooftop solar, batteries and electric vehicles, will play a dominant role in our grid. In my final year undergraduate engineering thesis, I simulated and reported on how these distributed systems have the potential to strengthen the stability of our energy system. However, none of these things will happen without overcoming large technical, political and social challenges, and I’m enjoying working towards this smart energy revolution.
