About Mark McInerney

Mark McInerney is a veteran biotech analyst with a track record dating back to his start at Deerfield Management in early 2001. After leaving Deerfield, Mark was part of the small healthcare team that broke off from Balyasny Asset Management in late 2005 to start Visium Asset Management. His unique, contrarian insights in the CNS, rare disease and cardiovascular sub- sectors helped drive the biotech team’s superior performance for ten years. Over that time Mark has successfully navigated through various market conditions, including the 2008 financial crisis and subsequent bear market. In addition to his performance at Visium, Mark has been a sought-after speaker and panelist at industry conferences. Mark gave the inaugural keynote presentation at the CNS Summit in Boca Raton to high acclaim, and has since been a panelist numerous times at that conference. He has also spoken at conferences sponsored by Neurotechnology Industry Organization, ISCDD and STAT News. Since the closure of Visium, Mark has consulted for a number of biotech firms seeking his advice on matters regarding product acquisitions, disease overviews and investor relations.
