My first job was fixing nuclear submarines, and from there went to Wall Street trading systems, online gaming and lotteries, and tracking weapons of mass destruction for the CIA, DIA and other intelligence agencies (there are way more than you think). Automation/containerization has always been a focus, whether in a small start-up (required), or in some giant corporation (the bureaucracy is too slow), hence- Creating scripts for a bank to recover from production outages in minutes, instead of hours, used successfully for over 5 years. A support rep telling a customer to reboot is ok, a bank telling dozens of teams to reboot in a certain order over hours is not ok- Authoring a set of tools to help automate upgrades of our company's software, instead of teams spending months rewriting code. This was used by dozens of client sites, and one of the reasons I was the top billing consultant for 3 years-"Big Bang Button" in online game administration to literally rebuild the universe - randomly regenerating planets, cultures, languages, etc, which behind the scenes meant bulk exporting/importing MS SQL Server database in minutes, republishing all services, generating all new game data, updating all software with latest security fixes, and notifying all users. When rapidly prototyping, you need the ability to start from scratch often, or you never make progress.
