About Mark Michaels

Mark is an Executive Consultant with 32+ years of professional experience in the electric, gas and water Utility industry. He has spent his past 24 years as an Executive Consultant, Director, Program Manager and Project Manager responsible for the justification, approval, specification, design, vendor negotiation, solution delivery and sustaining operation of utility Operational and Information Technology (OT/IT) and infrastructure projects. His deep utility and Smart Grid experience, his proven project management track record with successful large-scale projects, and demonstrated program oversight includes Smart Grid Operational Technologies, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Automated Metering (AMR) systems, wireless radio frequency (RF) networks, sophisticated computer and data center operations, local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), SCADA and Distribution Automation (DA) systems, Energy Management Systems (EMS), microwave, fiber optics, and other telecommunications technologies. Mark holds a BS, Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Santa Clara, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). His experience includes 15 years at Pacific Gas & Electric Company in a variety of technical, operational and managerial positions in utility construction, engineering and operations.
