About Mark Nisbet

Audio Visual Material Ltd (AVM) was a generic Audio Visual business in its early years with it’s core business as supplying and installing audio-visual systems. I joined in 1984 as a Service Engineer, but in the late 1980s, AVM was integrated into its sister company, Saville Audio Visual. Consequently, AVM became dormant. In 1989, I spearheaded the development of the service department and was appointed Service Manager then in 1990, I transitioned to a project management role. In 1996, I accepted the position of General Manager of AVM under the existing ownership, with the objective of transforming the company into a trade-only ProAV Distributor. My primary focus was on expanding the business by identifying and developing opportunities, overseeing all aspects of the company and reporting to the holding company’s directors. AVM experienced steady growth and profitability under my leadership and in 2007, I was appointed as Managing Director and in 2008, I acquired equity in the company. In 2011, I was appointed to the main board of SEA Holdings Ltd, the group holding company. I was one of three main board directors who orchestrated a management buy-out of the group in 2016, acquiring equal equity. This acquisition employed approximately 300 staff and resulted in the formation of SEA Holdings (UK) Ltd. In 2017, I also assumed the role of Managing Director of another group company, Quadra Concepts Ltd. Quadra manufacture AV furniture and had been experiencing financial losses for several years. However, the company turned a profit under my tenure in 2018 and 2019 through strategic business growth, cost optimisation and employee engagement. I made a strategic decision to sell AVM due to the continued integration of the ProAV and IT markets which completed in January 2020 to an IT PLC distribution company. Subsequently, I continued as Managing Director of AVM, divesting my equity in SEA Holdings and resigning from both SEA Holdings (UK) Ltd and Quadra Concepts Ltd. I transitioned into a part-time capacity in May 2022 and subsequently assumed the role of Non-Executive Director in January 2025.
