About Mark Ohalla

Mark S. O'Halla is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Prisma Health, South Carolina’s largest not-for-profit health care organization serving over 1.5 million patients each year. As the most comprehensive integrated health care system in the state, Prisma Health employs nearly team members, comprised of one of the largest medical groups in the country. Appointed in 2019, O’Halla brings over three decades of leadership experience as a senior health care executive and has played an integral role in leading the transformation and improvement of patient care outcomes at Prisma Health. O’Halla has been a catalyst for driving health care transformation initiatives that prioritize patient-centered approaches and promote sustainable health care practices, such as value-based care delivery. Under his leadership, Prisma Health entered a joint venture with WellStreet Urgent Care, expanding high-quality access to care, improving affordability and enhancing continuity of care across the continuum. As the chairman of the South Carolina Hospital Association Board of Trustees, he championed the implementation of a state directed payment plan for health systems in South Carolina, ensuring access to care for vulnerable populations, while also supporting the financial stability of health care organizations. Prior to his appointment as CEO, O’Halla served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of McLaren Health Care, a 15-hospital, Michigan-based integrated health system. O’Halla currently serves on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, America’s Essential Hospitals and the South Carolina Hospital Association. He is also a current member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio, and his MBA from William E. Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.
