About Mark-Olaf Schmitz

With over 20 years of experience in the legal and compliance field, I am passionate about developing and supporting ethics and compliance programs that foster a healthy company culture and business results. As the division compliance officer at Hexagon Geosystems, I have the global responsibility for advising and implementing anti-corruption, competition, customs, export-control, public contracting, data protection compliance and sustainable development initiatives across the division, including mining. My mission is to connect the dots, show the big picture, and move people towards a shared vision. I have a strong background in change project management, compliance management, and strategy, as well as certifications in business mediation and data protection. I leverage these skills to design and execute change management support for major reorganizations and business transformations, as well as to facilitate team coaching and conflict resolution. I also enjoy speaking and sharing my insights on topics such as sustainability, ethics, and compliance.
