Sr. Director Creative Design & Development Flooring, for Mohawk Groups Commercial & Hospitality businesses. Having previously spent more than 25 years with Axminster manufacturer, Brintons, as VP of Design & Marketing for North & South America. A 4th generation employee at Brintons, the son of a 47 year veteran loom & equipment engineer. I’ve dedicated myself to carpet design since 1987. At 24 I relocated to LA, assuming the role of Field Designer, the first such international posting for Brintons, laying ground work for what has now become a necessity for any Axminster mill looking to compete at the highest levels of localized custom carpet design. In my footsteps, our competitors now employ small groups of remote carpet designers, in one of our most technical and diverse design markets. Initially a broad design role covering the entire USA focused on key regional markets, specialist sectors. Additional Carpet Designers soon followed. My skill set later evolved to encompass sales techniques, accepting a duel role as Sales/ Design consultant in Southern California, doubling sales in successive years before relocating to Washington DC to manage our Marriott International business, a role in both design & sales. Later moving to Las Vegas, managing our gaming sector sales, by my second year achieving record sales, surpassing all previous volume. I like to explore an abundance of challenging opportunity; joy leading others in shared achievement/self development. Hosting design presentations to students & industry professionals, building strong, long term and key partnerships, driven to raising the bar in all aspects of design, never content with standing still.
