About Mark Patrick

I was first introduced to craft beer through mostly imports and some domestics. It was my younger brother Luke that took an interest in the array of flavors and complexities that didn’t accompany the typical mass-produced adjunct light lagers. His infatuation influenced a bit of my spark for the appearance, aroma, and flavor of craft beer, as well as the processes that created such depth. And so ensued the entry level beer kits that faired not so well at first, but gradually improved. I decided to apply at a local brewery and was thankfully given the opportunity to join their team. I worked in production and packaging for over a year, all the while getting my hands into all grain brewing. After several trials and errors, and a few undrinkable brews, I started to hone in my craft through proper procedures. I then stepped into the role of Brewer and developed my craft for the next three years. While in this position, I introduced three beer recipes that became very popular through tasting events and tap room releases, all of which remain a fan favorite to this day. After three years in my first brewing job, I resigned with the intent of finding an opportunity that allowed me to develop my skills even further. I spent time with a local wine & liquor store before starting the next chapter as Head Brewer with Grind City Brewing.
