About Mark Patterson

I have decades of experience solving the most challenging problems in the most dynamic and dangerous environments. With over 20 years of experience in Special Forces and a history of private-sector program management and entrepreneurship, I am a passionate and versatile leader who specializes in contested logistics, defense, tech innovation, robotics, and cyber operations. I currently serve as the commander of a multidiscipline team of professionals at Army Special Forces (Airborne), where I lead and direct sensitive and complex missions in support of national security and strategic objectives. I am driven by the values of excellence, innovation, and teamwork, and I strive to bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the special operations community. In my previous role as the Special Forces Capability Manager for Special Forces at USASOC, I was responsible for developing and integrating cutting-edge technologies and programs for Army Special Forces. I oversaw the USASOC modernization strategy for Large Scale Combat Operations and led the USASOC's first integration of ground force systems into Army Futures Command's Project Convergence capstone. I also developed direction and strategic vision for the entire USASOC portfolio of programs, influencing POM prioritization and investments. Some of the skills that I applied and enhanced in this role include joint military operations, operational planning, and command and control.
