About Mark Phillips

Results-driven procurement and supply chain leader with 20+ years of experience building high-impact procurement functions across global chemical manufacturing, real estate, and security sectors. Six Sigma trained and Harvard-certified in negotiation, I specialize in transforming procurement from a cost center into a strategic value driver. Throughout my career, I've delivered measurable outcomes — from re-engineering a company-wide railcar fleet strategy that generated ~$5M in structural savings, to architecting enterprise-wide procure-to-pay (P2P) frameworks, contract life cycle management systems, and vendor governance structures from the ground up. At FirstKey Homes, I serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, owning the full indirect procurement portfolio across 16 national offices — managing category strategy, vendor performance, contract negotiations, facilities, and budget planning for a rapidly scaling platform. What sets me apart is my ability to think both analytically and strategically — whether I'm optimizing total cost of ownership, leading cross-functional teams, or advising C-suite leaders on spend dynamics and risk exposure. I lead with data, negotiate with precision, and build teams that deliver.
