About Mark Plagge

Passionate about the future of AI, computing, and efficiency, I am driven to bring cross domain experts together to enable the next generation of AI and computation. I am lucky to have majored in game software development as an undergrad, high-performance-computing modeling and simulations in grad school, and researched cutting edge novel AI methods as a postdoctoral researcher at Sandia. This blend of performance oriented software engineering skills and novel AI research is at the core of what I am passionate about. I've built high-performance AI solutions in varied domains, from human-in-the-loop safety critical systems to space based sensors. Optimized networks for novel edge accelerator devices. Designed novel PyTorch neural network layers based on dendrites and principles of analog computing. And all the while, I will continue to champion the idea that AI and ML need not be massively energy inefficient, nor a dangerous black box.
