About Mark Preston

When it comes to design engineering, I've been called a 'one stop shop' in multiple areas of vehicle design. I've also been complimented on my speed and accuracy at every place of employment I've been. Catia V5 and CAVA are my design software packages of choice. In my current role I'm using Solidworks and PDM. I also spent a lot of time using Enovia in my last role. I actually set up the entire design department and functionality at Optimal. I am a packaging expert, both in Occupant and Mechanical. I can route all cooling and electrical, as well as package the components, including battery packs and brakes. I can setup drive lines, half shafts, front and rear suspensions, steering systems, and basic structures. I can literally design all the systems in any vehicle from the ground up. I've been designing so long it's difficult to catch everything in a short description. I put together a pretty good description in my last Optimal Position, as well as in my resume.
