About Mark Quarles

Senior Consultant, Branch Manager of BBJ Nashville, and Renewable Energy Practice Lead. I have 30-plus years of experience as a Client Manager, Project Manager, and subject matter expert for multi-discipline projects and clients including solar developers, industrial manufacturers, municipal governments, commercial real estate developers, non-profit organizations, and legal services. I work on a broad range of environmental, health, and safety projects within multiple BBJ Group practice groups: Site Investigation and Remediation, EHS Regulatory Compliance, Real Estate and Transaction Support, and Risk and Liability Management. Much of my experience involves transactional due diligence for national and local-scale acquisitions and divestitures, including negotiating property sale and lease agreements. My solar experience involves property due diligence, brownfield impact analyses, interconnection analysis, stormwater runoff permitting, panel placement, jurisdictional water determinations, cultural and historical investigations, and threatened and endangered species investigations. I have a particular expertise with site investigations and corrective actions associated with industrial contaminants and coal combustion residuals ("CCRs"). My background also includes education and experience in complex karst geologic environments. I am a Professional Geologist in Georgia, New York, and Tennessee. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering Technology from Western Kentucky University and a MBA from Vanderbilt University.
