I run a small business focused entirely on the world of wooden boats. Their history, their construction, their use. I endeavor to share the techniques I’ve learned through teaching private and group courses, public demonstrations and mentorship to dedicated individuals. I utilize various traditional and modern boatbuilding techniques to construct quality small wooden boats of all types. Kayaks, canoes, row boats, sailing dinghies and small power boats. An ongoing objective is re-vitalizing traditional kayak construction among aboriginal youth in the Canadian arctic. I began this work in the community of Kugaaruk in Nunavut and my latest focus has involved collaborating with the Inuvik Qayaq Club in Inuvik, NWT.
