About Mark Revell

With over 13 years of experience in the field of geography, I am passionate about developing and managing programs that demonstrate the value of geography, GIS, and geospatial sciences to public audiences. I have a strong background in project management, strategic planning, research, data analysis, and editing, and I enjoy collaborating with members and external stakeholders in advocating for my discipline. As the Manager for Career Programs and Disciplinary Research at the Association of American Geographers (AAG), I contribute to the organization's mission of advancing geographic knowledge and supporting geographic education. In my current role, I oversee the design and implementation of surveys measuring the health of geography higher education, and conduct research and analysis for white papers on trends in the discipline. I also engage and collaborate with members on career center programming at annual conferences, and organize professional development panels and workshops for geography students and early career professionals. Additionally, I plan, oversee, and execute the production of the AAG Guide, a comprehensive directory of geography programs in the US and Canada. Through these initiatives, I leverage my skills in project management, project planning, strategic planning, research, data analysis, and editing to support the growth and development of the geography community.
