Background
About Mark Ricktor
Meet Coach Mark: Embrace Your Authentic Self and Redefine What It Means to "Man Up" Welcome, and thank you for joining me on this transformative journey. I want to share a bit about myself and why this work is my passion. Growing up in the 60s, my father embodied the typical ideals of masculinity at the time. He believed that showing emotions was a sign of weakness, and seeking help was out of the question. As his son, I was expected to conform to these societal expectations. But there was one problem—I was wired differently. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't suppress my true self. I couldn't deny my emotions or pretend to be someone I wasn't. My father's words of "Man Up" echoed in my head, but deep down, I knew there was more to being a man than suppressing my feelings. Over the years, I faced challenges and endured emotional abuse and the struggles of living up to someone else's definition of masculinity. It wasn't until I set a boundary to protect my own son that I realized the profound impact of breaking free from those constraints. Although it caused a rift between my father and me, it was a crucial step toward my own personal growth. Reflecting on my journey, I found peace and discovered my authentic self. I refused to force myself into a mold dictated by my father or society. I realized that vulnerability isn't weakness—it's a sign of strength. It's the path to unlocking our true potential and living a life that aligns with our inner spirit. My mission now is to help men who feel lost, alone, and overwhelmed to discover their internal empowered clarity. Through a journey of self-awareness and self-discovery, these men can create and live an authentic life that aligns with their unique purpose. I believe it's time to redefine what it means to "Man Up." It's not about conforming to toxic ideals, but about embracing our vulnerability and creating a life that honors our true selves. Together, we can break free from self-inflicted and societal limitations and rewrite the narrative of masculinity.
