About Mark Russell

I have over 20 years experience in the Military Ground Vehicle domain. I am passionate about technology and humbly boast that I like to use my powers for good; but especially for the Army soldier of today and tomorrow. I started programming in MS-DOS at age 10 and knew I wanted to be an engineer at age 13. I was always the guy that family called upon for computer problems. I'm now pretty fluent in multiple programming languages: C/C++, Python, PHP, HTML, and hopefully soon Rust. I love Linux and silently wish for Microsoft to go away. What's my favorite Linux/bash command? Either "rm -rf /" or "while(1){ fork();}" One of my favorite things in life is to solve a deep technical problem. I usually won't rest until it's solved. I appreciate the elegance of well written code; if you can find a way to do something in fewer steps. well hats off to you.(Developers are supposed to be lazy, right?). Embedded systems make the world go round. If I can get something to work well on a Raspberry Pi at home, I'm over the moon happy. I'd also love the chance to develop for a smart watch or some other fun platform like that in the future. That or ask me to see how much work I could parallelize with a high-end GPU. Oh, I almost forgot. I also have an MBA with experience running a company many years ago. Happy to talk to anyone who will listen.
