About Mark S. Waxman

Upon graduating cum laude from UCLA with a BA and MFA in Cinema, Mark S. Waxman joined CBS, becoming the youngest network program executive in the history of broadcasting. He rose to the rank of Vice President of Children’s Programming after several years of developing television shows for prime time comedy and drama. In addition to being the head of program development and Program Director for Los Angeles public television station KCET, Mr. Waxman wrote, produced and directed over 400 hours of programming for PBS, earning two Emmy Awards along the way. With overall deals as a writer/producer for Columbia Pictures Television, TriStar, MTM, Sony Pictures Television and Fox Television Studios, Mr. Waxman worked in every television genre, every day part, and created projects for every network. Also, he has produced several unscripted specials and series for cable television. Mr. Waxman has had feature film scripts optioned, four books published, plays produced and, from 2007-2022, was the sole NBC writer (and four-time Emmy Nominee) for America’s most beloved and watched television special, “The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.” His debut novel,"The McVentures of Me, Morgan McFactoid," was published by Sky Pony Press and is available online and in bookstores. His latest books,"The Funny Kid" and "The Bones of Ghost Mountain" were published by Young Dragons Press and are also available online and in bookstores. Mr. Waxman was California collegiate saber champion and captain of the UCLA varsity fencing team.
