About Mark Sawicki

After graduating from Jackson Community College I went on to Los Angeles to attend the film school at USC. I began my career as a visual effects cameraman for Roger Corman and worked on the original Terminator film. I apprenticed under Bill Taylor and Albert Whitlock in the traditional discipline of latent image matte photography. In the 90s I helped usher in the digital era by being a writer and instructor for the Kodak Cineon project. I work as a director, visual FX creator, and virtual production supervisor as well as an instructor for film schools. Using Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects, I've created curricula and designed courses to help students master the tools required to tell their stories. I also consult with filmmakers to determine which methods of production will allow them to shoot their projects most cost-effectively.
