About Mark Schroeder

Mark C. Schroeder is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer of Enable Midstream Partners, LP where he has served as a member of the executive management team that took the company public in April 2014. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of CenterPoint Energy, Inc. He began his legal career in Baker Botts’ Washington office. From 1989 to 1993, he served as a Deputy General Counsel of the U. S. Department of Energy, where he was responsible for natural gas, environmental, and legislative matters, among others. From 1993 to 1994, he was a partner in the law firm, Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, LLP. From 1994 – 2001, he held various positions with Enron Corp. in the United States and in Europe. Prior to joining CenterPoint Energy, he was Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for El Paso Merchant Energy. Mr. Schroeder has appeared before numerous Congressional committees, presenting testimony on issues affecting the natural gas industry, energy regulation, and the environment. He has also appeared before committees of the House of Commons (UK) and of the Parliament of the Republic of France, and made formal presentations to public hearings hosted by the Transportation and Energy Directorate (DG-TREN) of the European Commission, all on the subject of energy market liberalization in Europe. A graduate of Louisiana State University, Schroeder holds degrees in accounting and law, and was Managing Editor of the Louisiana Law Review. He is a member of the bars of Louisiana and the District of Columbia. Schroeder is also a Certified Public Accountant.
