About Mark Schultz

Over the years, broad professional experience including involvement in high tech engineering, software development, community-supported organic agriculture, publishing, restaurant management and chef, wellness program development, and community organization. I have lived abroad, in SE Asia for a number of months, in southern Brazil for 7.5 years and currently work world-wide from our home in Barcelona. I am fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, get by in French and am learning Catalan. The international stage is most attractive to me; I believe my technical and interpersonal skills serve me and my clients best in that venue. My current goals include, but are not limited to, being part of an application development team. Other opportunities away from software engineering, which tap into other skill areas such as communication and design, are also of interest. Specialties: The mainstay of my income for the past 15 years has been software design and development, managing presentation, backoffice and middleware. I have 7 years in-depth financial reporting background, and am steeped in international insurance. Pro-bono work has allowed me to dive into web presentation software and community portals with multimedia design and presentation, as well as Google's new offerings. Work with Lotus Consulting and IBM prepared me for localization in my current projects.
