About Mark Shackleford

After working for more than a decade in wholesale and retail power, I've moved into the oil and gas wing of the energy field with Energy Transfer. And though the language and analysis may be a little different than electricity, I've found the skills acquired through the years are just as useful in this sector.Energy Transfer has a diverse set of businesses including a retail energy provider currently serving our own load in ERCOT and PJM. Through this entity and my role in the Power Optimization group, I have been able to utilize my extensive experience in the wholesale and retail energy business to help manage costs for a large, and expanding, portion of the company's energy requirements.In a separate role, I provide analysis for Energy Transfer Technologies (ETT), a subsidiary of Energy Transfer Partners, LP. ETT creates compression solutions utilizing our patented Dual Drive compression technology that combines the benefits of both natural gas and electric-driven compression. Through ETT we offer industry-leading flexibility, reliability and energy management options to customers.When needed, I also perform analysis for Endure Energy, a commodity marketing company focused on wholesale power and natural gas and also a subsidiary of Energy Transfer Partners, LP. My involvement is typically involved when evaluating non-standard products including options on non-standard periods (minimum run-time) and look-back options.Energy Transfer affords me the opportunity to get involved in several aspects of their businesses, utilizing my existing skills while motivating me to learn more and expand my techniques to further my utility to the partnership.Specialties: Market analysis, reporting, forecasting, hedging, risk, spreadsheets, queries, marketing, product design, options, video editing
