About Mark Shaffer

With more than 35 years’ Big Four experience, I have a proven track record as a forward-thinking growth strategist, practice leader, and trusted advisor to Audit Committee Chairs and C-suite leadership. I have guided leading organizations through transformative acquisitions and dispositions, business transformations, economic volatility, and evolving regulatory landscapes. I have served as a Lead Audit Partner for 17 different public companies across a broad range of industry sectors, while also advancing through multiple leadership roles within KPMG. Most recently as Audit Growth Enablement Leader, I drove the adoption of our first-ever CRM system, oversaw sales methodology training, and revamped the industry sector and geographical structure to enable a growth culture. During this time, the firm led the profession in net gains of public company audit clients. Previously, I served as Partner-in-Charge of the Mid-America Business Unit, leading a $150M+ operation encompassing six offices, 400 personnel, and 45 Partners. Additionally, I held the position of Indianapolis Office Managing Partner, leading the strategic direction, market-facing initiatives and client relationship development across the state of Indiana. I was elected by my Partners to the KPMG US Board of Directors Nominating Committee. I am passionate about making a positive impact on my community and have applied my well-rounded financial and business expertise as Board Chair of the Indiana Repertory Theatre, Junior Achievement of Central Indiana and Horizon House Inc. as well as a Board and Executive Committee Member for the Indiana CPA Society and Carmel Dad’s Club. Additionally, I have served on the Dean’s Advisory Council and the Accounting Advisory Group of the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
