About Mark Slates

Helping people make good things happen began as an avocation, evolved into a passion, and is my chosen vocation. I did not choose a career in manufacturing quality. Attention to detail, drive for never-ending improvement, and stubborn resistance to accepting the status quo made quality assurance a natural fit. A career in Quality has afforded the opportunity to help organizations negotiate the sometimes-difficult journey toward meeting their goals. Over the course of my career, I have been blessed with the opportunity to enjoy increasingly responsible positions in manufacturing. The journey toward understanding and appreciating project management was natural. It began through a habit of continuous learning and study. As my understanding of the Project Management Body of Knowledge grew, I began to see how my entire career has been made up of projects and that I achieve greatest success and satisfaction when leading a project through to closure with attainment of the project goals. There is no greater mission, no better career, than using my skills in combining quality assurance, project management, and servant leadership to help people make good things happen.
