About Mark Sorensen

I have been working in networking for over twenty years and have created a Local Area, Campus Area and Wide Area networks including design and implementation. My experience with networking equipment includes Cisco routing, switching, firewalls, telephony and UCS servers. I have worked on Cisco Call Manager from version 3.3 to version 11.5 along with Cisco Unity and Cisco Emergency Responder which reliably directs first responders to the right location in case of emergencies. I have also worked with Windows servers from NT 4 through Server 2016 and am proficient in Active Directory. This includes initial establishment of a Windows domain in NT 4, migration to Active Directory and continuing upgrades through Windows Server 2016. In September, 2018, I entered government service focusing on network switching and security. In 2019, I took an offer in the Private Sector with Sunquest Information Systems, of Tucson, AZ. where I have worked on a LAN/WAN involving the US and India. Most recently, I have been involved in the move from an on-site data center to a secure co-location using Cisco 9500 and 9200 switches, Palo Alto Firewalls and Velocloud 680 and 620 SD WAN devices. Also, I have been laying the groundwork to migrate the phone service from Cisco Call Manager, Unity Voicemail and Cisco UCCX call Center to MS Teams calling, as part of a cost savings measure, in my role at Sunquest Information Systems.
