About Mark Spiteri

My main responsibility is the managing of the business from all aspects to ensure growth and profitability. This involves business planning and budgeting, development of existing business, attracting new clients, maintaining growth, monitoring performance, strategic planning and importantly taking the right decisions for the business after analyzing all options available. One of my strongest attributes is strategic planning. Strategic planning should be designed holistically around the achievement of the vision of the organization. I am a firm believer that a company should first and foremost have a vision of where it wants to be and what it wants to achieve over a period of time. The vision should focus on various areas such as financial aspects, growth, positioning of the company, target markets, organizational aspects and human resources amongst others. Through these management strategies, in 2020, the company organically achieved the status of the largest broker in Malta. As part of the leadership team I am also responsible for leading internal processes, workflows and systems as well as setting a clear direction for the business. The role is mainly strategic, but includes managing the implementation and enhancement of IT projects. Managing the company also involves the identification and analysis of risks to which the business is exposed and implementing measures to reduce or eliminate such risks - the risk management process, designing and implementing business continuity processes, internal auditing, ensuring a professional level of operational standards and maintaining high levels of business ethics. A very important aspect of my duties relates to client relationships. A business would not exist if it had no clients. As the General Manager I am in close contact with clients to ensure that our services are of the highest possible professional standards, that the company is meeting the clients' expectations and we are delivering. My 30 plus experience in insurance and insurance broking is very broad and over the years I have touched practically all classes of insurance including property & business interruption, accident, liabilities, engineering and to a lesser extent some aviation and marine. In addition I am very will versed in policies of insurance relating to professional indemnity, directors and officers liabilities, cyber and insurances relating to financial institutions such as bankers blanket bond and electronic crime.
