About Mark Standley

For the past 17 years, I have been an active participant in the Motorsport Industry. In 2024, I have been subcontracted to Pirelli to serve as a tyre technician primarily for Formulas 2 and 3. My expertise in motorsport engineering spans over 18 years, with a particular focus on my role as a Race Engineer (Crew Chief) in professional motorcycle racing and as a motorcycle dynamics specialist, with specialist factory training by multiple manufacturers in Suspension (operation, tuning, design, maintenance). Unfortunately, due to the decline in professional motorcycle racing opportunities in recent years, I am forced to explore other professional motorsports avenues. I possess a Bachelor of Science degree with honors and a Foundation Degree in Science in Motorsport Technology. Furthermore, I have undertaken advanced studies in Motorcycle Dynamics and received specialized training at the factory level from KYB (Technical Touch), Mupo, Nitron, Ohlins, MCSS UK, and Andreani as a Suspension specialist. During my early years in Motorsport, specifically in 2007 through to 2009, I held the position of junior engineer at JWA Racing. While working in the workshop, I provided support for their race programs in the European Le Mans Series (GT2) and GT Endurance races. However, my transition to professional motorcycle racing in 2009 allowed me to evolve into the role of Race Engineer. As a Race Engineer, I have, and continue to hone my skills in analysing and enhancing vehicle performance, ultimately contributing to the team's success in competitions. Additionally, from 2015 to 2023, I operated my own business that focused on Motorcycle Suspension/Chassis optimization and tuning, in addition to my Race Engineering responsibilities. Alongside my technical proficiency, I possess personal qualities such as self-motivation, adaptability, and meticulous attention to detail, attributes essential in the dynamic and rapidly evolving realm of motorsport engineering.
